the monson's: last one, i promise.

okay, this will be the last post about quin's birthday! i promise. sorry for so many posts about it. so like i said in the earlier post, we pretty much celebrated all weekend. since his birthday was on sunday, we couldn't do everything we wanted. so on saturday we we went out to lunch at this favorite place to eat, honolulu grill. it really is a yummy place! it has the best hawaiian food. i had to work that night so we didn't get to do too much. one surprise that he got that afternoon was a unwelcome friend!

***side story, real quick*** so quin went on his mission to peru. when he was there, he got sick with a parasite. ever since then, he just hasn't been the same "bowel" wise. we just though because he had once gotten them, they just messed it up a bit.

so back to saturday, quin passed a worm in his stool! gross times forty. i was getting ready for work and this is how the conversation went...

"dani, i think i just pooped out a worm"

"what?!?!"

"yeah, come look before i flush it"

"don't flush it!!!"

i looked in the toilet and sure enough, there was a worm sticking out of a poo (sorry for visual). i made him fish it out and i put it in a tubberware and, of course, took it to work with me. i wanted to show it to the docs to see if they it they would know what kind it is and what medication. sure enough, they exactly what it was! one doc had been to africa and said he has seen those come out like spaghetti. <insert skin crawling, gagging here>. he wrote me a prescription for quin and we got it filled as soon as we could! so for the next week, there could be a lot more coming!

okay, back to quin's birthday...sunday was the actual day. we went to church and made some delicious birthday dinner. i attempted to make a cafe rio pork salad. it actually wasn't too bad! then we sang to him as he blew out his furnace on top of his cake, opened gifts, and then went for an evening motorcycle ride. for his birthday i got him a new helmet. that is one of the rules that came along with the bike, helmet is mandatory :). it even has bluetooth in it so hopefully it will make him want to wear it instead of me forcing him to. there is a method to my madness.

monday night we invited friends over to celebrate his birthday with us. we had soooo many desserts, chips, dip, and every sweet thing you can imagine. we all just hung out, talked, and then eventually got to the hot tub. we didn't want to plan to much because we always end up talking the night away and catching up with friends we don't get to see too often. it was a great night and a great end to the days of birthday celebration! hopefully it'll be one that lasts until next year.
