st. george marathon

this past weekend, quin ran the st. george marathon and did awesome! it was his first actual marathon and his goal was to get under four hours. his final time was three hours and fifty four minutes so he just squeaked in! if i tried to run a marathon, i would still be out there right now, three days later, trying to finish the dang thing. he had a couple friends and his brother that ran it with him and they all did awesome too.

he had his parents, his uncle, my parents, sisters, brother, and friends there cheering him on! they definitely had a ton of support and i was so proud to see him finish in such a great time. he was definitely hurting in the end but there were a lot more people worse off than him. poor dean (his brother) made an amazing time but ended being so sick afterwards. put that down for another reason why i could never run a marathon! haha.

anyways, i think that will be his first and only marathon but we are hoping to do a couple bike races within the next year. this way, i can actually participate. i'll go bike a hundred miles before i'd run 26.2 miles. anyone want to join us in these bike ones?! they will be sooooo much better than running ones :)

this weekend was also conference weekend which was perfect. having dvr makes it so nice. when we got home from the marathon we caught up on saturday's sessions and soaked up the relaxing time that we had. conference is always so inspiring and motivational. not to mention the missionary age change! that will make a huge difference! chase could have already been out. so crazy to think about.

hope everyone had a nice, relaxing weekend also.

during the race (thanks marie for the pic!)

dean about to cross the finish line!

quin almost at the finish line

don't worry...he beat that elderly guy behind him :)
(but seriously...those guys are awesome to still be running this!)

quin and dean...glad to be done! 26.2 miles down
