i am slightly behind in blogging and hopefully will catch up sooner than later! we went on a quick trip to san francisco that i still need to blog about among other things. but before i start on all those i wanted to get a quick update of my mom written down. poor thing has been through too much lately! she had her surgery where they removed the ovary and it came back non-cancerous, which we are so grateful for!

about a week after the surgery, my mom still wasn't feeling great. she hadn't really used the bathroom since then and she was still soooo swollen. she looked like she was six months pregnant and was in a ton of pain. my dad finally took her back to the emergency room and they found that she had a complete bowel obstruction. not fun. about seven inches of her small intestine had been closed off completely, blocking everything. that is why she was so swollen and couldn't go to the bathroom. she ended up having to have another surgery to remove those seven inches. when they were in there, they found that she had a hole in her abdominal wall that had been there since her c-sections and her small intestine had worked its way through it. when she the surgery that removed the ovary, it caused her abdominal wall to swell up which then squeezed off the small intestine. when they removed it they said it was completely black and dead. how crazy! so three weeks of recovery turned into six weeks.

she finally had her first day back to work last thursday and is doing so much better! her first day back wasn't the funnest and she overdid it just a tad but she is healing great. i put some pictures of her ovarian cyst and they look completely awesome. they are pictures of a picture so they weren't the greatest quality but you will see how crazy it was!
