okay

so i know this blog might feel neglected.

it's because it is.

for it being summer, a time meant for relaxation, it hasn't been much of that. we have been quite busy with our everyday lives that the small things have taken a back burner.

so here is to a small unmeaningful post, full of what-have-yous and the random-happenings that have existed these last couple weeks. it will surely be a short one that is for sure.

one exciting thing that happened, although it may not seem that exciting to all of you, is that i got a new job! one that does not require me to drive two hours away, gaining an hour, and then losing it on my way home. this job, in fact, is only a short twelve minute drive from my home and it truly is the most awesome thing right now. i absolutely love it. and i love my job. it is in the emergency department at intermountain healthcare and the bomb dot com. i have been there for about three weeks so i'm still getting used to everything but i love it. everyone is so nice and helpful too (complete opposite of my last job). and we even have our own benefits now! we are really growing up now.

another exciting thing is that quin might start his master's degree this fall. he is still looking into a few things but it is a great possibility that he will be starting in august. it kinda happened fast but we are excited to get things moving in that direction. he is definitely a hard worker and always wants to keep learning. i think i'm done with school for awhile so more power to him for wanting to go back!

hmm...what else has been random yet things i will want to remember when i look back on this...oh quin signed up for the marathon this october. he is crazy. he asked if i wanted to do it with him and i laughed in his face. i hate running and i don't think i will ever like it. he is doing great though. he has been running a ton and wakes up early to do it all.

instead of running, i like to go biking. i just bought my first road bike a couple weeks ago and love it. we got quin's last year so now we get to go together more. we have mountain bikes but it was always harder to make time to go to a trail and such. now we just hop on them and head down the road. way better than running in my opinion.

my blow dryer blew up yesterday. that's random yet interesting right? i had to go to work with wet hair, slicked back, all boy looking. i was hot. i bought a new one today and plugged it in to the same outlet and it wouldn't work either. the idea then popped into my head that maybe it wasn't the blow dryer that blew up, it was the outlet so i really didn't have to buy a new one. oh well. i already threw the other one away and i'm sure it would have blown up sooner than later. i like my newer one better.

we had flash floods this past weekend. it was pretty crazy. it didn't flood on our side of town but over on the west side it did! like bad! the pictures were pretty amazing. it's unbelievable how much rain can come down and completely wash everything away, including parts of the road. we needed it though. the land was plenty dry. i got these following pictures from my sister in law who lives over where it flooded.

alright, i need to be done with this random nothing post of a whole lotta nothing updates! i am supposed to be packing for our vacation right now! we will be in the aloha state for the next ten days and i couldn't be more stinking excited!! these last couple of busy weeks makes me want to have the next ten days last for a month.
