salt lake

this weekend we headed up to salt lake again. we headed up for one of quin's best friends weddings and our nephews baptism. quin and his friend kyle have been friends since they were young and have stayed pretty good friends. kyle is a great guy and his new wife katie is so adorable. they make a super cute couple. we were so excited to go to the temple with them and see them get sealed together.

friday night was their dinner and they held it at the lion house. i had never been there before. it was a cute little old house that they made into a place that serves some delicious food. the dessert was my favorite of course! after we finished eating the main meal, each of the siblings of the bride and groom got up and gave them something that told a story about them. it was a way cute idea. they showed a cute video of them as well.

that night quin and i decided it would be fun to sleep out on the deck at his parents house. it was so fun sleeping under the stars. we slept on an air mattress so by the time we got up in the morning, some of the air had gone out. i slept great but quin said he didn't. he said he always sinks in the hole and then i lean on him. haha. that's what happens when you sleep on an air mattress! it was fun though. we lathered up in bug spray and only got one bite each. i thought i'd be covered.

that next morning, quin, kyle, and a couple other friends got up at 5am to go boating! they took kyle on his wedding day out boating. the wedding wasn't until 3pm so they thought they'd throw in a quick trip on kyle's last morning as a single man. they had a lot of fun. it would have been funner if the wives would have been invited though i'm sure.

we had to be at the sealing a half hour early. they were getting married in the bountiful temple and it is gorgeous. they both looked so incredibly happy. president groberg (the guy that the movie the other side of heaven is about) sealed them. it was pretty cool to meet him. he was super nice and humble. it was an amazing day that's for sure. we were so happy to be a part of it.

after the sealing, we hurry and drove up to layton where ammon was getting baptized. we missed the actual baptism but were able to meet up with the family afterwards for a quick dinner. we are very proud of ammon and you could tell he was so excited to be baptized. he is the fourth niece/nephew to get baptized in our family.

we didn't get to spend as much time as we wanted with the family but we had to leave to meet up with kyle and the rest of his groomsman for pictures. the reception was outside in kyles aunt and uncles back yard. it was such a cute reception and they did a great job at decorating. it was soooo hot though! i felt like it was as hot as st. george. i never realized salt lake got so hot. we had a great night seeing all of quin's old high school friends. i wish we all lived in the same place so we could hang out more. they are all so great and quin has the funnest time seeing them again.

how to entertain kids these days! they were on these phones for forever. 

we had a great weekend seeing family and friends. we always love spending time with all of them. we wish we could spend more time though! it never seems like enough.
