santa monica pier

alright, sorry for the drawn out posts of california and the absence of yours truly. i can say i was just far too busy to post anything but that wouldn't be the truth. busy would be part of it but mostly i was just lazy. and my computer decided it didn't want to turn on anymore. technology can be dumb sometimes. so i had to search for quin's old computer and wipe the dust off of it and that is where the laziness came in. i just didn't want to have to do that. haha.

anyways, on to santa monica. we wanted to stay on santa monica because of the atmosphere of it all. we love the beach life and the laid backness of it all. since we spent the day before in los angeles, we spent the whole next day enjoying the beach, the pier, and the shopping. when we booked our hotel, we got free bike rentals which we were definitely excited to use. biking is one of our favorite hobbies to do together so we took advantage of that.

we headed down to the pier and then found our way to the bike path. we biked down to venice beach and watched the muscle men do their thing on muscle beach. i was about to join them but i didn't want my big muscles to scare them away so i decided against it. maybe next time they will be able to handle it. we spent a couple hours just laying on the beach and enjoying riding up and down it on the beach cruisers and walking around the pier. i could have spent all day there. we had to get the bikes back to the hotel though.

after our bike adventure we got ready and headed down to third street promenade for some awesome shopping. love that area of shopping. they have super cute theatres there so we decided to catch the new 007 movie skyfall. it was the first day so we made sure we got tickets early. we loved the movie. they did a way good job. we even had great seats. we were pretty tired from the days happenings so we went back and crashed for the night.

the next day was our day to drive home. we were sad to leave as always but excited to get back to utah. we had a great time in cali and enjoyed the little vacation!
