weekend in park city

park city is kind of our go to place when we need a little time away. we booked this little weekend getaway before we knew what a busy weekend it was going to be. we had a ton going on and we almost just threw it away and didn't go. we were feeling like we had too much to do to go up. well, of course we couldn't just throw it away because we'd lose the money we spent and that was a definite no no in my book. we almost called a couple people that lived up north to see if they would take it. but, instead, we decided just to tuck everything we had to do aside and spend a weekend meant for relaxing to do just that.

we got up there later than we thought but as soon as we pulled in, we knew we made the right choice in coming. we stayed at the stein erickson lodge which is seriously super nice. they only do valet so as soon as we pulled up (which is all underground in a heated parking garage) they helped us out of the car and hauled all our crab in for us. first check on our weekend of relaxation. i was a tad embarrassed when they got in my car to park it since it wasn't the cleanest it's ever been. plus, we weren't prepared for that. anyways, the rooms were super nice. they had even turned our bed down for us, got us ice, and had two little chocolates on our pillows. okay, all our recent regret of leaving everything we had to do at home went out the window. we definitely needed a little r&r from work and school. we slept like babies that night.

the next morning, we got up when wanted to. no alarms are set on vaca. we went to the gym, then went down to main street and ate some yummy breakfast at a cute little cafe. after that, we walked up and down main street and window shopped. the stores there are fun to look at but way to expensive to ever buy anything. the outlet shops are more our style so that is where we headed next. it was right before halloween, so all the shops gave out candy to little trick or treaters dressed up. it was so cute seeing all the cute costumes around. they are getting more creative nowadays. my sheet i made into a ghost or my zombie clothes wouldn't even compare to what they have now. my favorite was a girl was a hot air balloon. it was pretty cool.

after our little shopping spree, we went back to our room and took a nap. i know, we are so fun haha. it was so great to have time for a nap though. once we got up, we wanted to go see a movie. i swear, the only times we ever see movies is when we are away from home. we never make time on just a normal day to ever go see one. we first grabbed some dinner at a really good place but i don't remember the name of it. it was right across from the theatre so it was perfect. we then went and saw taken 2. i was pretty much on the edge of my seat the whole time. i get too worked up in movies like that. it was good though. we definitely enjoyed it.

after the movie we enjoyed some hot cocoa and caramel apples. they have a rocky mountain chocolate factory in park city and they seriously have the best caramel apples. we got the heath one and apple pie one. to. die. for. i could eat them all day long. the rest of the evening we snuggled in our robes and slippers while sipping on hot chocolate and devouring the delicious caramel apples. it was a great evening.

the next day quin's parents were on their way up to heber where quin's sister lives. the kids had a primary program that they were going to. they brought us some breakfast as well as some other things to bring down south. it was fun to see them even if it was just for a bit. it was a quick weekend but fun nonetheless. we definitely enjoyed not having to do anything.
