new york // day two

our second day in new york wasn't too eventful. it was sunday and it was mothers day so we decided to stay in long beach and enjoy what it had to offer. our friends we were staying with didn't have church until one that afternoon so we were able to drive around and check out the cute little town of seyville. we drove down to the beach and soaked up some sunshine. it was the warmest day we had there so we were enjoying it! when we were at the beach, there was a post sticking up out of the ground so me, being the smart one that i am, decided it would be fun to try and stand on it. at least i didn't fall folks. dumb idea, probably, but it was fun.

after our beach escapade, we got ready for church and joined the essigs. that evening we were able to talk to my little brother, chase, since it was mothers day. he skyped in to my family in st. george and then we face timed my dad's phone so we could see him and talk to him. it was a lot of fun seeing and hearing all about his mission. he is loving it and we are so proud of him. we got off the phone after about an hour but i'm sure my mom sat and talked to him for much longer. it's crazy what you can do these days with technology. after our forever long face time with the fam, we cooked up some awesome din din and talked the rest of the evening. it was a great relaxing day in the mix of all these event packed days we had while we were there.
