new york city // day one

 

like i said in this post, we spent our anniversary in new york city. we did so much on this trip and took sooo many pictures, i'm going to split it up into days. one of quin's good friends lives on long island and they were nice enough to let us stay with them. where they lived on long island was about an hour away from the city. we flew in around three in the afternoon and they came and picked us up from jfk and we went straight to dinner. we wanted to try some "real" new york pizza so we went to one of the more famous ones called lombardi's pizza. it was pretty good but i think i've had better!

after dinner, we took the subway to the temple. it's crazy to see the temple in the middle of all these tall buildings. if it didn't have the angel moroni on the top and the words "church of jesus christ" on the side, you would have no idea it's the temple. we walked inside, to the left is the temple entrance, to the right is a stake center. above the cultural hall is the celestial room. craziness. we didn't have time to do a session but it was still awesome to see.

after the temple, we went to times square and did a little sight seeing, shopping, and crowd fighting. the buildings are crazy there. i felt like i was a midget in this huge city. the forever 21 was amazing. five stories amazing. we walked by the broadway buildings. the building they have good morning america in. the crazy naked dude playing guitar. times square is crazy but it is a place you need to see kind of crazy. we had fun people watching, watching the sun get dimmer and the lights get brighter. all in all, our first day in new york city didn't disappoint. it was the start of a busy four in a half days!
