Fall Break and everything else

Well we have been pretty boring lately and I haven't had much to blog about but I thought i'd write some fun random things that we have done so I won't forget them...not that they are really that important to remember but hey. Anyways, for Fall Break we thought really long and hard for something fun to do. We wanted to get out of town and go somewhere, spend a lot of money, and have fun away from homework and work. It then occurred to us that we have no where to go, no money to spend, and homework that needed to be done. So we stayed put in lovely St. George. We did try to have as much fun as we could and just hang out with friends and such.

Some highlights of the weekend:
  • Going to Krumpets 75% off sale and buying cute decorations.
  • Playing in a volleyball tournament.
  • Going to the St. George Temple.
  • Going to Andy and Kasia's for a BBQ and being the only ones to bring hamburgers while everyone else brought steak.
  • Finally getting the MTN on TV (this one is for Quin. He was SOOO excited to get a sports channel. We don't have any TV at all except for a few channels that just happen to come in. And now the Mountain is a part of it).
  • Hanging out with Bryce and Brooke and watching "Whats Eating Gilbert Grape" for the first time (weird but semi sad movie).
  • Finally putting to use our Ice Cream maker and making homemade cookies and cream ice cream...yumm!
  • Making a skirt! (Pictures to come)
  • Dragging Quin to Joanns to buy fabric for that skirt.
  • Watching the Outdoor Volleyball Tournament while trying to get a tan.
  • Sleeping in.
  • Getting new callings in our ward. I'm a Relief Society Teacher and Quin is a Ward Missionary.
  • Having a game night at some random peoples home. But it was fun all the same.
Yes we had a pretty random week but we had tons of fun just hanging out with our friends here. Most of my time was taken up with making that dang skirt. I'm glad I made it and I love it but it was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be! I got the idea off of another blog called Sewing in No Mans Land. She makes way cute things for her kids and I hope I can one day be a mom that makes cute clothes for my kids! That will be many years in the future of course. I love sewing and I am so glad I got a sewing machine in high school because I use it so much now. Anyways, It took me a couple days to finish it but I finally got her done!

Quin was very helpful in helping me pick out the fabric as well. Everytime I got done sewing something I'd show it to him to make sure it looked ok. I'm sure he didn't care at all but it helped me out! He is such a cutie.

Last week was also Homecoming Week for Dixie. We were kinda losers and didn't really attend anything except for the Parade, the Tailgate party, and the Football game. Quin had to drive the float for the Amabassadors so I tagged along and rode up front with him. It is the 100th year celebration so this years parade was kinda a big deal. It went for 10 blocks and had more than 100 entries in it. It was pretty cool. The tailgate party was also fun. There was so many people there! And the game too. Our football team this year isn't very good but it is still fun to watch. They started out strong scoring two touchdowns but thats about as far as we got. They still did way good though!

Ambassador Float

Halloween is in 13/14 days! It really is in 14 but since its a Sunday we will be celebrating it in 13 days! Yay! I'm excited for it.
