we love vacations to say the least and we very well couldn't let a three day weekend go to waste without going somewhere. us and three other couples braved the wild traffic over labor day and headed down to california! we stayed in a beach house right on huntington beach and it was the best thing ever. hotels are fun but who doesn't want to stay right on the beach? it was so fun and we all had a blast. quin and i woke up early every morning and walked down to the beach. it was so awesome!
we didn't get down there til way late because the roads were closed due to a fire! it took us two hours longer but we made it fun. we also may or may not have broken the law by driving on the side of the road. you know those idiots that drive in the emergency lane to get ahead of cars? yeah that was us. not on purpose though! we were going to get off the exit but it started moving when we were on the side so we just shimmied right back in. it was pretty funny. i would've cussed us if i were the cars still in line.
anyways, after we finally got down there it was pretty late so we just zonked out. saturday we drove up to six flags hurricane harbor. i love love love water parks so i was so excited! the weather was perfect. it would've been way too hot to be at the magic mountain park though. we had so much fun on all the rides. we even got a free lunch and a picture with tweety bird. it was such a fun day!
saturday night after we got home we went and walked the pier. we also went out to eat at the diner at the very end of it called ruby's. so good!! and the prices were pretty decent. we thought it would be outrageous because of the location. they have one in the stratosphere in las vegas too and they are so yummy.
sunday we spent all morning at the beach and shopping of course. that afternoon we went to the anaheim angels baseball game! it was a blast. i'm not usually a fan of baseball but it's always funner to watch it in person. they played the minnesota twins and won! we had great seats right off the first base line. no foul balls came our way though. next time we'll sit on the third base line because that is where they all went.

that night we had a bonfire on the beach and roasted marshmallows. so fun! it was labor day weekend so it was packed!! we almost didn't get a fire pit we snatched one right as some people were leaving. the sunset was so gorgeous as well. i probably got like fifty pictures of it but i'll spare you and only put up one. okay..maybe two. it was so fun and we definitely ate a whole meals worth of smores. we had the original chocolate and we also had reeses. now that was good! after we had our dessert first, we all went out to cheesecake factory, the best place to eat in the whole wide world and i don't even like cheesecake. i just go for the food!
we bought fly swatters to use as roasters!
monday was our last day and we were all pretty sad about it. we hung out at the beach all morning and went shopping some more. huntington beach has the funnest shops to walk around and it's such a fun atmosphere. we loved it!
we had so much fun on our little vacation to california. the drive home went smoothly! then the next week was chaos trying to move everything over to the new house. an update on that next!
I so want to live by a beach! Looks like a great little get-a-way! Happy you guys were able to go.
