halloween festivities

we always have so much fun for halloween. it really is one of the funnest holidays! plus i feel like it's the start to all the big ones. once halloween comes, then thanksgiving and christmas just roll right in behind it. it always goes way to fast though.

this year for halloween we did a couple different activities for the weekend. on friday, we drove up to cedar city to go to the haunted hospital. quin and i went a couple years ago when we were dating so we thought it would be fun to go back. our friends, kasia and andy, joined us for the spooky activity! we had also heard about a haunted forest so we thought it would be fun to go to that one too. we drove around for about an hour, stopped at an artic circle and maverick to ask for directions, and we still couldn't find it! so we decided the haunted hospital was good enough. and it was. i was scared out of my pants. i just held quin's hand and hid behind him. i know it's not real but i still get scared haha. it was pretty freaky. but we had a lot of fun.

on saturday we held a halloween party at our house. we hadn't heard of anything going on and neither had most of our friends so we thought it would be fun to do something so everyone had a place to party! we didn't do a whole ton. we had a ton of food! it was so fun. we all just sat around, ate some yummy food, and talked. i know it doesn't sound that fun but it really was. i love catching up with people and seeing whats going on in their lives. we had a ton of fun and are so glad we decided to do something. most everyone came in halloween costumes which made it even funner. quin and i were lame and didn't have the best costumes. we had some really good ideas but just ran out of time. party planning takes a lot more time than i thought! mostly just making the food.

i wish we would have gotten pictures of everyone! everyone did such a good job on their costumes. carlie and brett came as a baseball player and cleat chaser. cj and robin and their two kids came as graham crackers, a hershey bar, and a marshmallow. so stinkin cute! ryan and lindy were superman and lois lane. prissy was a football player and jake didn't dress up (lame) and their two kids were a baseball player and a dinosaur. i hope i didn't leave anyone out! we had a ton of fun for it though.

on actual halloween night we went trick or treating with our nieces and nephews in hurricane. they block off their whole neighborhood and there are so many kids that walk around. it's nice that cars aren't driving around too. much safer. the kids dressed up way cute and absolutely loved walking around to the houses. there was a guy on a horse walking around the neighborhood as the headless horseman. it was pretty cool and looked legit. it made it way fun! everyone did such a good job decorating their houses and the kids loved it. there was so many kids around that everyone just sits on their porches with bowls of candy. some make little haunted houses that the kids have to walk through to get to the candy. quin and i had fun walking around with them and seeing how excited they got over candy. oh the good ole days! sometimes i miss being a little kid again.
