thanksgiving holiday

this year for thanksgiving we went up north to be with quin's family. quin didn't have school on tuesday and i didn't have to work so we decided to head up then and spend an extra day! we had so much fun spending time with family. we didn't want to leave. too bad it can't be the holidays forever! there are so many things to be thankful for this time of year. we definitely have the best family in the whole world, hands down.

on wednesday, everyone else was able to come up and we were able just to hang out and get ready for the big day. quin and the kids helped grandma and grandpa put up christmas lights. the kids loved being on the roof and helping uncle quin. they were so cute. it did make us a little nervous because they were being a little more daring than we would have liked!

after getting the christmas lights up we all headed out to layton to do a little pre-black friday shopping and to go out to dinner. quin's sister and her family live out there so we met up with them and had a great time. we ended up eating at golden corral. it filled our bellies up to help stretch them out for our big thanksgiving dinner we were having the next day! we had a great day before thanksgiving feast though. it was even better because we didn't have to cook or clean up. we saved that mess for the next day.

thanksgiving day was spent cooking, setting up tables, and taming the kids! the dinner was so yummy and we stuffed ourselves way too full. the kids had a blast being together. it's always a zoo when all the cousins get together but we wouldn't have it any other way. after dinner we did a little christmas story play and sang christmas songs using chimes that you have to hit to make different notes. the kids loved it. the songs didn't sound too much how they were supposed to because they would hit them out of turn. that was their favorite part. they didn't care it was supposed to be a christmas song! cuties.

that night we were pretty hard core black fridayers. i've never been way into black friday and i'm not sure why this year we decided to get into it but we had fun. we got all our christmas shopping done!! it feels great. the only place that was out of control was walmart. people are just flat nuts there. there is a youtube video of the walmart where we were at. quin's sister is in standing off to the side watching all the crazies jump on a cardboard shelf full of wii games. you can watch it here. please do. because it's nuts but oh so funny what people will do for a semi good deal. after walmart we were done til about 4am. we woke up and hit the rest of the stores. now we're done! we wrapped all our presents when we got home but our christmas tree wasn't up yet so we had no where to put them. we quickly set it up but it's pretty sad looking. no ornaments yet. work has taken over and hopefully we'll get to finish it this weekend. then it will really feel like christmas!

thanksgiving was so much fun and we were so glad we were able to spend time with the monson's. it was too short! we are planning some fam time in december thought and can't wait.
