random happenings

so it's been like two weeks since i've posted anything and i apologize. i don't know where the time as gone! i feel like the holidays didn't get their fair share of days this year. i guess with days going by without knowing they passed and us not being up to too much, the blog has been neglected with zero fun posts. maybe someday our life will live up to an interesting one but this isn't one of them.

a little update about us...quin graduated with this bachelors degree and applied to a couple jobs. nothing was as good as his current job giving him a little promo and a little more mullah to make him leave so he is still working for the college as the ambassador advisor. he loves it. it makes him feel young again that he gets to hang out with the youngsters. he's also been reffing high school basketball again. this is his second year and he has enjoyed it alot more than last year. he feels like he knows what he's doing a little better. sometimes at college games he'll watch what the refs do instead of the actual game. weirdo. he's a pretty good ref though says him. i've never seen him so i can't add my biased opinion but i would say the same thing anyways.

quin also gets a stipend for a smart phone so we will soon be joining the 21st century with phones that are dubbed as "smart". my vote is the iphone and i think i win. i can't wait.

i'm still working as well. nursing is such a glamorous job that i don't have too much to say about it except that i love it. the hospital and jail give me such good stories to tell but due to HIPAA i try to keep them to myself. even quin gets a little bugged that i don't tell him more. i do see some great things that sometimes i wonder why i think they are so great. most of the time is a normal inhabitants as a nurse that i won't think it's out of the ordinary and forget it happened anyways. one think i do know is that there are some really special people out there that make my jobs too interesting. i'm in my last semester of my bachelors of nursing program. all i know is that i can't stinking wait til it's over. nuff said about that.

quin and i are on a city league coed volleyball team together and we love it. city league is such a great thing for old people to think that they are young again. it makes us feel as if anyways.

and just for your information, if you ever need to get pictures for your passports, don't go to walmart. i had to change my name on mine and quin's was about to expire so we started getting all the crap together for those for the cruise. well we decided to go to walmart to get the pictures thinking it would be the easiest. no, sir, it was not. they wouldn't let us smile, saying it was a new rule, so we proceeded to get our mug shots taken and they turned out horrible. it took them an hour to "edit" them. what? i'm surprised the passport people even took them because they were so bad. we both look like heathen criminals with odd lighting on our faces. we look semi shiny. thank you walmart. and you want to know the worst thing? not smiling is not a rule so don't let them tell you that it is! i asked the passport people and they laughed and said, whoever told you that is an idiot. hence, walmart, you are idiots. so here is your warning. if you need a passport picture, stay away from walmart.

on a more happy note, we just bought a new laptop and found out that there is now 2010 microsoft office. i just barely upgraded from 2003 to 2007 so i don't know how i'm going to catch up to 2010. we are pretty excited about the new laptop though! it hasn't come in the mail yet so i can't give you a good review on if we love it or hate it. i'm sure we will love it though. both of our laptops are so ancient that we'll be oohing and ahhing at how fast it will be and all the new things a laptop can do.

last week our friends came down to visit us from provo. one moment in life that we won't forget is kneaders breakfast. we've eaten lunch there before but nothing tops their french toast. seriously. to. die. for. i don't know what they put in those luscious piece of bread but they are so yummy to the tummy that all other french toasts look like soggy slices of bread. oh yeah. they were that good.

well that's all the jibber jabber i feel like spelling out today. we do have a couple fun things happening in the near future so maybe my next post won't just be just nothing. maybe. no promises though.

and because no post is a good post without a picture...here is a pic of us at our breakfast, one of the few pictures we've taken since christmas...
