graduation

so, i have finally come to terms that i am just too far behind to keep doing catch up posts. i don't like posting something that happened weeks ago so for now, i'll just post what is currently happening and maybe i'll get back to the other ones i missed in april. it was sooooo busy that i just couldn't take the time to do them! with school coming to a close, work going crazy, and everything else that happens in the spring time, my time was spread far and in between with only downtime to snooze as much as i could. now that school is over, however, i think i can manage some more time to devote to our blog slash journal of sorts.

so, yesterday, quin and i graduated with our bachelor degrees! quin actually graduated in december but since dixie doesn't walk twice a year, he got to walk with me. i graduated with my nursing degree two years ago but still wanted to get my bachelors, so back to school i went. it is definitely worth it looking in hind sight now! i am soooo glad to be done though. it is the best feeling ever, really. it was a lot of fun walking with quin too. four years ago in may of 2008, quin and i walked together when i was getting my associates of science and quin was getting his associates of arts. we were just dating then! now, married, we got to walk together again but for our bachelors. i think that is pretty neat if you ask me. i tried to find the picture that we took from when we walked but it's on my desktop computer that i haven't set up since we moved and i wasn't that motivated to do it now haha.

dixie started doing graduation a little different now. apparently, it's how all the other schools do it anyways so we are just behind. quin and i walked together in the big commencement earlier in the day and then our individual department graduations were later in the day. some were at different times but ours happened to be at the same time! so i ended up just going to his business graduation instead of my nursing one. i was perfectly fine with doing that. i think i've had enough graduations in my life time. it feels that way anyways.

i am very proud of quin and him completing his bachelors! i'm proud of myself too but it's not as fun talking about myself as it is about quin. he wants to get his masters in business so we'll see how soon he'll want to jump back into school.

that night we went to a luau at the banks home. they are the funniest parents ever. our friend lia was home from texas and her brother was home from hawaii and then there was a bunch of us here for graduation. so of course it called for a party. clare banks teaches math at dixie and she is the cutest asian lady and she makes the best food. we love to go over the their house whenever they invite us!
