the weekend before last

this weekend was the weekend i was in nebraska at my great grandma's birthday celebration. but that is not all that was happening that weekend. my little brother (the one i think gets mentioned in this blog a little too much. he is great though) was playing in his final state championship as a little high schooler. he is such a determined little scout along with his other team mates that he has played with since elementary school (the joys of growing up in a one horse town). they were able to win their upteenth state championship. unfortunately my mother and i had to make a decision to watch this final game or visit my great grandma who we don't know will be with us much longer. i think we made the right decision of visiting such an amazing woman but we are still so proud of chase and all his accomplishments in his life as of yet. my dad and older brother, as well as the rest of our town, were there to support him and the rest of the team. we are now still anxiously awaiting his next step in life coming all the way from salt lake city in the shape of a envelope that will change his next two years.

another exciting thing that happened this very weekend was a solar eclipse. they said that kanaraville, just outside of st. george, was the best place in the whole entire world to watch it. how awesome is that. they also said that they were expecting hundreds of people from around the world to come watch in that very spot. the town only has about three hundred people in it and they set out over five hundred port of potties for the expected amount of people. craziness. i unfortunately did not get to see it for i was in a state where it didn't look as cool. quin attempted to see it but apparently you have to wear special glasses and if you don't it will burn your eyes out. quin's eyes almost got burned out. he didn't know. he though the burning was normal. haha.
