a spontaneous trip

a couple weeks ago on a monday we received a call from quin's mom and she had quite the surprise for us. president monson called her and told her he wouldn't be able to make it the jazz game that night and offered her his tickets. so when she called us up and asked if we would want to go, of course we said yes! president monson's tickets are in the huntsman suite and they are amazing. quin and i have been once before when his seats were available but it was when we were dating, probably four years ago, so it was our turn to indulge in the sweetness again. we try and rotate family members so that everyone gets the chance to use them.

when haldeen called us, it was around 1230 in the afternoon and we pretty much dropped everything, got ready, and left! it was a tad spontaneous but so much fun. we got up north just as the game started and enjoyed the catered dinner and ice cream at half time. the jazz game is so much better to watch from the suites. the jazz game is fun anywhere you watch it at but the food definitely helped.

we had a ton of fun at the game. quin was planning on coming back up north on wednesday for work stuff so we ended up staying up for a couple days and made it a weekend during the week. i didn't have to work until thursday so it worked out perfect. i ended up coming home wednesday after a couple days of enjoying family time. quin and i went to the new city creek center and loved it! it is so nice and i loved the atmosphere. we enjoyed a nice snack at kneaders as well. so yummy.

we definitely enjoyed our little spontaneous trip up north! we thought it would be a fast little trip but it turned out to be a really nice break from the week.

 p.s. on the drive back my car hit 200,000 miles. sad day :(
