it's beginning to feel alot like christmas

well our leaves have officially fallen off our tree. we woke up the other morning and bam...they were all on the ground. i guess that means it is officially winter time which of course means christmas is coming soon. i can't believe it is already almost here! our last days in nevada for thanksgiving break were wonderful. we even woke up sunday morning to some snow on the ground. i was so excited and giddy that there was snow (obviously i am not from or even live somewhere that gets alot of snow). i know you up northens have had snow for a long time and even feet of snow but i was very pleased with our couple of inches. it just made it feel that much more wintery around here.

quin and i put up our christmas decorations this week as well. we listened to christmas music as we decorated our little place up. we don't have a ton of room so it didn't take too long but it feels much better with the decorations up. we even have some cinnamony (?) smelly stuff. it can't be christmas without some christmas smells around. also may i mention how much i love having a christmas tree! it's so dang cute if i say so myself. we even have presents under the tree now thanks to black friday. we definitely went away from that day with a lot of stuff and not so much money. but it was fun. we got most of our christmas shopping done so that equals a good thing i guess!

our christmas tree :)

some more decorations

our cute centerpiece on our table. the pine cones smell so yummy!

when we got home from thanksgiving break our home was 56 degrees. we finally decided to turn our heat on. we haven't turned it on yet this winter cuz we wanted to save some moolah. it has definitely helped but it was just tooooo cold to keep if off any longer. it is so nice coming home to a warm house instead of instantly putting blankets on. we probably should have turned it on a little  sooner. oh well. its on now and feels spectacularly warm.

christmas is one of my most favorite time of the year. i love the music, the snow, the family time, hot chocolate, cuddling, fireplaces, my birthday, seeing old friends, the food, wrapping gifts, watching movies like elf and the grinch, and i could go on and on. i even changed our background to be christmasy and our sledding picture. i love it. this will be our first christmas together being married but we have spent at least part of the break of our last three christmas's together. this will be our fourth. i'm so excited for this christmas and getting to spend the whole time together with quin. i can't wait to go up north and play in the snow. i am also pretty excited to end this semester of school. i know there will be another one right around the corner but at least we can be done for a couple weeks and enjoy christmas a little more!
bring on the holiday yumminess

  2. Dani,
I love to read your blog entries! You are so cute! I hope you keep a back-up of them somewhere... The other day, my friend lost all her great entries when her g-mail address was accidentally deleted! She is so sad! So, since your blog tells so much about your first year with Quin let's hope it is saved somewhere else so you are never so sad...

  4. Thanks Aunt Jeanette! I'm so glad you found this thing. Its so fun to have and i'll definitely have to save everything somewhere else. I don't want to lose it all! That would be horrible. Thanks for the advice!
