Just call us the chaperones!

Once you get married at the college, you can become a chaperone for the activities that the student government puts on. Since I used to be on it, once I got married Quin and I got put on the list. Well we've been able to do a couple things so far like the Halloween Carnival and Hypnotist. It's a pretty sweet deal since we get paid to go and make sure no one "acts up". We're pretty much babysitters to college kids. Well this last Friday we were asked to chaperone the Cardboard Campout. This is an activity where the students come and camp out in cardboard boxes for homeless awareness. There were two other chaperone couples that did it with us. One couple left at midnight and the other went and slept in their cardboard box pretty early in the night. So that left Quin and I to stay up all night until the other people went to sleep. It was FREEZING!!! And of course the students didn't go to sleep til way late. Once they did at about 3:30 am, we went up to the Ambassador room (thank heavens Quin had keys!) and slept on the couches til 6 and we went back out to the freezing cold! It was a pretty fun evening but i'm not sure we will do it again!

It was so cold!

Some people went all out on their cardboard house! This one even had a drawbridge.

This one looked like a real homeless person lived in it.

Quin fell asleep pretty fast!

This one had a couch and a matress in it. It was huge! They didn't get the homeless experience with those nice things but at least they were comfortable.

It started collapsing!

Early morning hours with only 2 in a half hours of sleep!

It was a fun experience for sure. Everyone had a lot of fun! We had doughnuts and hot chocolate for breakfast and left around 8 am. We went home and took a pretty good nap! We are definitely thankful for our small apartment and nice warm bed!
