i asked quin today if mamacita was a real spanish word for mother. he told me that it kinda was but that it meant somewhere along the lines of a "hot mother". not really what i thought but i still like to say it so i'll continue doing so. besides, all mothers are drop dead gorgeous anyways!
for mothers day we were at my parents home because i had to work all weekend and also tonight (hence why i'm blogging during the early morning hours. i need to stay awake somehow). it actually worked out perfect and we didn't even plan it that way to be home for mothers day. i always remember when i was little and in primary singing in church for mothers day the same songs every year. then after sacrament they would always pass around some kind of a gift for all the mothers, mostly flowers. this year they handed out carnations and i even got one and i'm not even a mother. my little brother was helping handing them out so that's the only reason why. thanks chase! quin informed me that i'll be his future baby's momma so i deserve mothers day gifts now to prepare for it. i'm ok with that. gifts are great.
after church we cooked some dinner and ate our little hearts out! we didn't do anything spectacular to celebrate but quin and i did get my mother a card. it had a cat laying in a sink and in the inside of the card it said "for mothers day i thought you'd enjoy this picture of a cat in a sink" and that was it (until we wrote in it of course). we didn't have too many options at walmart picking out cards but really? who comes up with these cards and gets paid for that? haha. better yet...who is dumb enough to buy cards like that? we are. it fitted my mother though because we have two cats and one is her little baby that basically follows her around whenever she is home. so i think she enjoyed it.
well it was awesome getting to be home for mothers day. next year we'll have to try to make it up north to visit quins mom! she even gave me a mothers day gift. its kinda like a second birthday when you are a mom. mom's deserve it that's for sure! my mother is a great example to me in my life and i'm thankful for her and my dad for raising me the way they did. quin's mom is as wonderful as ever. if you ever meet her you will have a smile on your face the whole time. she is the spunkiest woman you'll ever meet! we love them both so much!!
