a little craftiness

last week, a girl in our ward set up a craft night with poppyseed projects. they put together these beautiful pictures of temples that you get to make yourself. it was such a fun idea to all get together and make em. there was about twenty girls there from my ward that came and it was such a blast! i think we all need to get together and do craft nights more often.

anyways, so these two women from the poppyseed projects brought everything that we needed. we just showed up! and brought money of course. but the first thing you do is roll glue on to a plaque and stick your picture of the temple on it. you have to use a squeegee to make sure that all the bubbles get out. your arm starts hurting after awhile of pushing so hard! and i did two. one for me and one for my mom.

the next step was putting the texterizer on. this makes the picture look like its an actual painting and a little more antiquey. then you let it dry while you paint your frame. they are pretty big pictures and i can't wait to hang it up in the new house. i painted my moms frame black and then i antiqued my frame. i'm not sure if i love it yet because it didn't turn exactly how i thought it would but i think it's growing on me.

it was such a fun night and we are going to do another one in a couple months but using family pictures. i can't wait. they turned out so stinking cute!!

i've also been thinking about how we should decorate our room once we move. we are getting a king bed so that meant we got to get a new comforter. i decided to decorate our room with red and aqua. we have a ton of red decor stuff so i didn't want to waste it and not use it but i'm kinda sick of the red. but when you add a little blue with it, it brings a whole different feel that i love. i think it'll look so cute! i don't want it to look like a little kids room though so i gotta be careful. anyways, i saw this sign in an online shop for $300 buckaroos!! i thought to myself, i could totally make that. and that is just what i did! and i customized it to match our new room!

i also have a ton of other things. saved in a little file on my computer to make. we bought a bedspread with the aqua on it so i'm going to bring the red in with pillows and accessories. of course we already have a ton but i also wanna make a ton too. here are a couple examples and things i would love to do!

love the blue frames and red nightstand

i'll make this next. para siempre. it means forever

i love everything about this picture

love old bottles! and their turquoise

i probably won't do curtains but i love these

so cute.

sorry to have so many pictures. don't those colors look so cute together though?! hopefully our room turns out. i'm so excited to put it all together!
