Northern Utah Vacation

This past week we were up in Centerville. It wasn't technically a vacation but we like to call our trips that so they sound more fun :). Anywho, we left St. George Tuesday to drive up to Quins parents home. Quin had a dentist appointment on Wednesday so it was kind of a weird time to have a "vacation" being the middle of the week and all but we had to do what we had to do! Well, poor Quin ended up having to have a root canal! Not fun. His front tooth has been hurting him since Peru (about 4 weeks ago). Hes a trooper putting up with the pain and all! He has to go back up next week for them to finish doing whatever they need to do to fix it. Look what he has to look forward to when he becomes a dentist :). Well after his dental appointment, Quin, me, Haldeen, Kirk, Quins sister, Heidi, and of course Jarom (Heidi's youngest) decided we'd go up to Park City and try out the zip line! It was at the Olympic State Park and Heidi had some free passes so we took the liberty of using them. It was a blast! The weather hadn't been the best that day but we took the chance and were able to go. We all forgot our camera's so I had to use my phone so the pictures aren't the best quality!

We had an absolute blast going down the zip line! Thanks to Heidi for letting us go. After we finished up the the Olympic Park we went shopping at the Tanger Outlets in Park City. I hadn't been shopping at a mall for awhile so it was fun. We found so way good deals! Its good to bargain shop when you're as poor as us newlyweds are :).

Thursday morning we woke up to the call of "time to work out in the yard!" We had worked a little bit the morning before and this morning was just the same. Whenever Quin goes home he always expects a little work to be done! Well Kirk and Haldeen are redoing their front flower bed to spruce it up. It had a bunch of weeds in it so Haldeen and I start pulling weeds while Kirk and Quin start filling in around the pipes and doing alot of digging.

All in a good days work! Once it starts getting too hot we quit :). We got alot done though! After working we drove out to Layton. We dropped off Haldeen at Heidi's house and picked up Paige, our cute neice! I had to get my ring checked in Ogden so we drove up there real quick then took Paige out for some ice cream and lunch in the park. She was such a good sport putting up with us at the jewelers! We had alot of fun with her and love having her with us! She is such a doll :) She picked out bright green ice cream with skittles and sprinkles. What a kid thing to do!

Later that evening we went to one of Quins best friends from high schools wedding reception (haha that was a bit of a mouth full!). She is such a fun girl! Her name is Danielle too and she even has the same birthday as me...crazy!! Anywho, her reception was really pretty. Way different than any other reception i've been to but it was pretty cool. Instead of a sign-in book they had a huge canvas and paint and you just signed your name on the canvas. Cute idea huh? Danielle and her husband are both pretty artsy and creative so thier reception was a reflection of that to a T! It was in a warehouse and she had these hangy things from the roof made out of chicken wire and rolled up paper. I wish I could be that creative. Check them out...
I tried to get them in the background but you can't tell.
Well congrats to Danielle and her new hubby! How dumb of me not even to get any pictures of the bride and groom. All I cared about were the decorations!

Quin and I were supposed to leave on Friday morning but we got a call from Quins best friend Kyle. He had a boating offer for Saturday. Of course, we can never pass up an offer to go boating. So we ended up staying a couple more days :). Friday we just hung out and went up to Heber to visit Syd and Joe and the kids. Afterwards we went to another wedding reception of Quins cousins daughter. It was in Henefer, UT. Never heard of the place but it was sooo beautiful! If it didn't snow 9 months out of the 12 up there I would seriously consider moving up in that neck of the woods. Maybe not Henefer though because it reminds me too much of a heifer. Yeah. Anyways. Quin and I went to the Bountiful Temple Saturday morning and that afternoon went boating. We went up to Pine View Lake. The weather wasn't the greatest so we just ended up tubing the whole time. It was still a blast though! We hadn't been out on the lake all summer so it was fun just to be out there. That evening we went to Park City (again) and stayed the night in a condo with Kyle and a bunch of his friends. It was so fun to hang out with some different people and get to do all the things we did!
The crazy weather!

Just a bit windy!

Ah...a little rest

I think Kyle won

Well, there you have it! What a "vacation" we had haha. We love being up north and getting to visit all of Quins family while we're there. We always have so much fun!

  1. Fun times, but such a bummer for Quin and his tooth. I literally know just how he feels. But he will definitely know what it feels like when he is the one giving those injections:) haha.
