the ambassadors were asked to drive the very important people (vip's) from the parking lot to the arena where the concert was being held. the ambassadors have golf carts that they use for tours around campus so they were able to use those for this. since quin is the advisor he was given a bunch of free tickets to give to those who helped and he had an extra one so i was able to get in for free as well! they weren't the best seats but you don't really have to have great seats to go to that type of concert. as long as you can see and hear it was amazing wherever you sat. they sang a bunch of old american tribute songs since that was the theme. the orchestra also came and let me tell ya there are some talented people there! both the choir and orchestra. the singers are all volunteers as well. it was so amazing. i thought i was listening to a cd that was how perfect it was!
overall it was a very awesome night. quin was able to meet a couple of the people who sang in the choir. a little funny story...when quin was driving the golf carts down from the school to the parking lot, a couple of the singers were walking down. three of them hopped on with quin. one of them was alex boye. at first he just clung on to the back and let the others sit down in the seats. the seat next to quin was open so one of the other singers told him to go sit up front..."it'll make up for all the times you had to sit in the back of the bus!" alex just laughed, jumped up front and scrame "if rosa parks could see me now!!" as they drove off alex tried to swat some of the peoples behinds as they drove by. what a funny and outstanding man. quin said he laughed pretty hard and was so glad he got to meet such wonderful people. those who sing in the morman tabernacle choir are truly gifted and humble people. they have amazing talent and they use it to help spread the word of our gospel through song.
i'm so glad we were able to go and listen to the choir sing some of america's best songs!
after the concert we came home and relaxed til we went to bed. this next picture defines what i said in the last post about quin loving cheese and crackers. he wasn't prepared for me to take a picture...hence the surprised look on his face. i think he had a mouth full or cracker with a little bit of cheese in there. haha it made me laugh though!
Glad you got to attend the concert! I love Alex - his humor and good nature is so contagious, not to mention his amazing vocal talent. Love your cute blog - MoSop
