the real world.

i always thought when i graduated high school and moved away to go to college that i was entering "the real world".it is a huge step for an 18 year old but i feel like right now  i have just barely reached the destination of that long road to where the real world is at...or at least hit a pit spot along the way.

graduating high school is one thing, but graduating college is another. i got my first job as a registered nurse and i couldn't be more happy. this is what i went to school for 16 years to achieve. i can't believe i have a real job. better yet...i have a career. what!? am i old enough to actually have a career? i think now, i have officially entered "the real world". graduating college and getting married was just the beginning. it feels so great to actually be working and doing the things i learned about in school. i actually get paid for this?! no more clinicals where i offer up my free time for free labor?! that sounds GREAT to me.

ever since i graduated high school i have had a steady job. working in the red rock cafe at dixie as a cashier, being a nanny, a CNA for hospice, intramural secretary, and now a nurse! all of those jobs were great and i've loved every single one of them. i have never had a job i didn't enjoy doing. but now i have something that i actually had to go to school for to even work as. this is what i am going to be doing for the rest of my life so i better enjoy it! it's a real job. i guess that's why they call it the real world. i'm not going to lie, if feels pretty great.

so far, working as a nurse has been fun. there is always a lot to learn. i will never stop learning in this field. the first couple days at work i highly enjoyed and i LOVE the people i work with. they are all so great and so helpful. i'm glad we don't have any nurses that "eat their young". i think i'm going to like where i'm at for awhile.
